 Overturned Propane Truck
On Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at 0843 hrs., Bethany units
responded to a reported propane truck rollover on Witty
Road near Hunter's Glen Dr. just south of US 158. Upon
arrival, units found a propane truck on its side with a
small leak from one of the valves.

 Structure
Fire
Bethany FD responded to a structure fire
on second alarm along with Huntsville FD, Madison FD,
Mayodan FD, Jacob's Creek FD, and Shiloh FD on Bald Hill
Loop Road in Madison. Upon arrival, Jacob's Creek FD
reported heavy smoke and fire showing.

 Working
House Fire
The Bethany Fire Dept. responded mutual aid with Station
10 and 30 to reported structure fire on Sandy Cross Rd.
Bethany firefighters assisted with defensive fire
attack, salvage, and overhaul.

 MVC
The Bethany Fire Dept. responded with RCEMS to reported
MVA on July 1st, 2009 on Kallam Mill Rd.

New
Radios for the Middle School
 The Bethany Fire Department purchased three 15 channel
two-way radios for the Bethany Community Middle School.
The radios are for communication between staff and also
allow contact with the Bethany Elementary School if
needed. The radios were presented by Lieutenant Phillip
Butler to the Principal Vicky Bethel and Todd Southard.

Bethany Certified as Medical
Responder Unit
The Bethany Fire Department received notice on December
1, 2007 that the department has meet the professional
standards requirements and has been certified as a
Medical Responder Unit through the North Carolina
Association of Rescue and Emergency Medical Services,
Inc. This certification process required a review and
inspection of the current equipment carried on our units
and subsequently met all standards for this
designation. This process has allowed the department to
be inducted into the membership of the North Carolina
Association of Rescue and Emergency Medical Services,
Inc. With this membership, the members of our department
are entitled to extra benefits above and beyond those of
the North Carolina Firemen's Association.
