Structure Fire - February 12, 2007
The Bethany FD responded first-in on a reported structure fire on February 12, 2007 at 0032 hours. Upon arrival heavy fire and smoke were showing. Information was received that two elderly occupants were possibly trapped inside the residence. An offensive attack, along with search and rescue operations, were started immediately. The fire was quickly knocked down but due the the rapid spread of the fire the occupants were unable to escape. The fire department would like to extend its deepest condolences to the family of the victims. Other assisting agencies include: Huntsville FD, Jacobs Creek FD, Rockingham County Fire Marshal's Office, Rockingham County Sheriff's Office, SBI, and the Rockingham County Arson Task Force.
