The
Bethany Fire Department Fire Prevention program was
started in 2002 as a result of budget cuts in the
County, which resulted in the loss of the County Fire
Life Safety Educator. Since that time the Bethany Fire
Department has continued to provide this service in the
Bethany Community. With strong support the program has
continued to grow. In 2004, we took ownership of the
County Smoke House and in 2006 the Fire Department
purchased an inflatable water slide for community
functions.
Bethany
fire Department members continue to take pride in their
community education. We have four certified Life Safety
Educators who have completed a total of 420 hours of training.
We also have two other individuals taking their Level I
classes.
We
also offer several services free of charge to the
public. Below are just a few examples:
We
also offer the Smoke House, which is a portable small
scale house. This is used to simulate escaping from a
smoke filled house. This is made possible by using
non-toxic artificial smoke.

The
Fire Department also offers smoke detector installations
free of charge. We also offer fire extinguishers and
escape ladders that can be purchased at the fire
department.
We
also offer:
-
Free Blood Pressure checks Monday-Friday
8:00am-3:00pm
-
Free home safety checks
-
Free smoke detectors
-
Free fire safety classes (need to be scheduled in
advance)
-
Smoke House Demos (to organizations County wide)
-
Water slide (to churches and other non-profit
children's organizations)
I
would like to thank you for your time in visiting the
web site, and wish you a safe and happy summer. Continue
to look back and check for updates.
